Yachts and superyachts
A yacht left for months in Maltese sun, salt and dust ages fast — teak greys, upholstery fades, gelcoat chalks. A fitted shrink wrap cover protects all of it, in full or just the parts that suffer most, and comes off clean when the owner flies back in.

Yacht shrink wrapping is a cover built on the boat: a timber and webbing frame is put up over the deck, then UV-stabilised polyethylene film is wrapped over it, heat-welded into one skin and shrunk tight with a heat gun. Vents and zipped doors are fitted, so the yacht stays dry and protected for a season while crew can still get aboard.
How people find us
A full cover, fitted once and left alone, keeps sun, dust and salt off every exterior surface until you’re back. No weekly washdowns, no re-varnishing in spring.
You don’t need to wrap the whole yacht. Sun decks, flybridges, helm stations, tenders and toys can each be covered on their own frame and opened independently.
Contractors bring dust, drips and boots. Covers over finished areas — and containment around the area being worked on — keep the damage where the work is.
The process
We walk the yacht with the owner, captain or manager, agree what’s covered and what stays usable, and note berth or yard rules.
Timber battens and webbing go up so the film stands clear of rails, glass, antennas and teak — and so water and dust run off rather than pool.
The film is welded into one skin and shrunk tight with heat. It doesn’t flap, chafe or let dust in at laps, because there aren’t any.
Vents go in high and low for heat and damp. Zipped doors go wherever the crew, surveyors or contractors need to get aboard.
Options
Bow to transom over the superstructure. Best for owners away for a season and yachts laid up ashore.
Sun deck, flybridge, bow, helm stations or furniture on independent frames — the yacht stays usable around them.
Tenders, jet skis and toys wrapped individually, on deck, in the garage or on the quay.
Covers over finished areas and enclosures around the work, designed with the yard.
| Compare | Shrink wrap | Fitted canvas | Nothing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | A season of lay-up, owner away, refit | Frequent use, covered between trips | — |
| Upfront cost | Lower for a single season | Higher — made to measure | None, until the clean-up |
| Dust and salt | Sealed skin, no gaps | Gaps at edges and fastenings | Everything lands on the boat |
| Wind | Shrunk tight, nothing loose | Can lift and flap if not tensioned | — |
| Re-use | Single season, then removed | Many seasons with care | — |
Before we quote
For yachts we survey aboard with the owner, captain or manager, at the berth or in the yard. We measure the vessel, work out the frame, the film area, the vents and the doors — and the number you get back is the number you pay. No provisional sums, no “subject to access”.

Illustrative figures for a 28 m motor yacht. Your own survey happens on site — or starts from photos, if you’d rather.

Start from your phone
Not every yacht job needs a visit to get going. Send a couple of photos and tell us the yacht’s length, where she’s berthed and what you want covered, and an installer will tell you what’s involved — including when shrink wrap isn’t the right call.
Whole item in frame, plus one close-up of the access side.
WhatsApp or email, with the yacht’s length, where she’s berthed and what you want covered.
Approach, timescale and a price, in plain English.
Finished covers
Tight, smooth, framed clear of what it protects and welded into one skin. This is the standard every cover is fitted to.

Questions
It depends on length, superstructure, rig and access. A part cover for a sun deck costs far less than a full cover on a 30-metre yacht. Send photos and the length for an indication; the fixed price follows the survey.
No. The film sits on a frame clear of the surfaces, and is padded where it bears on anything. What damages yachts is a cover lying directly on the deck and moving in the wind — which is what the frame prevents.
Yes. We fit zipped doors wherever they’re needed, so crew, surveyors and contractors can come and go without opening the cover.
Yes, in full or in part. For larger yachts part covers are more common: decks, furniture, helm stations, tenders and toys, each on its own frame.
A season — a winter, or a summer if the yacht is idle. Tell us at survey stage if you need longer and we’ll specify for it.
Send a photo, the length and where she is. You’ll get a straight answer on the approach, and a fixed price after the survey.
